Model Airplane International 2005-11

This kit comprises two grey sprues, a small etched fret, the resin parts, the vac-formed canopies and a decal sheet. Even though the main plastic parts are nicely moulded with just a little flash, I didn't like the engraved panel lines, as they varied in both thickness and depth. I also feel that Special Hobby have failed to realistically reproduce the cowling as the flaps looked very poor, being thick and faintly defined. In think that a separate resin cowling would have been an ideal solution. Fortunately the rest of the parts seemed to be much better, with the resin parts free of bubbles and the etched parts (produced by Eduard) were of their usual high quality. I also appreciated the inclusion of the spare canopy, even though the clear plastic used showed a blue tint, this disappeared once the canopy was attached.
