Most of the models I build are injection-molded plastic air plane kits, just like the ones you find in hobby shops. But this hobby doesn't end there. Other types of kits, aftermarket details and accessories, paints, tools, and reference materials are available. You won't need everything that's out there, but there are a few tools and materials you should have on your workbench. Speaking of workbenches, you don't need anything fancy, but you should have a small table or desk where you can work and leave your project while you attend to life's other pleasures. Make sure there is plenty of light, access to electricity, and good ventilation.
