However good model kits of tanks and armoured fighting vehicles become, enthusiast modellers will usually find something to add. Most of the component parts of kits of vehicles made by the injection-moulded plastic process feature engraved or raised detail to some degree. But the keen modeller will soon realise that much can be done to make a mass-produced replica that bit special and 'personalised'. The moulds mainly used to create injection-moulded kits cannot always cope with very tiny items. Making large or small changes to 'customise' or improve a basic kit or create an alternative version of a particular vehicle, is a very popular pastime.
