Military Modelling 2003-12

The release of 1:9 scale (200mm) resin figures seems to have slowed to a almost a complete halt in recent times, but fortunately Warriors Scale models are still releasing the odd gem now and again. The most recent is of a German general at Stalingrad, sculpted by Brian Stewart, which is quite an unusual composition as most of the available figures of generals are often sculpted in static poses, displaying little movement other than possibly reading a map. This one has broken the mould as he is depicted stealthily observing the enemy with his binoculars from the relative safety of a bombed out industrial site. I quite often comment about originality when I write reviews about Warriors' figures, but the fact is that they seem to have a gift for delivering something different every time , as with their 'Panzer Knacker,' 'D-Day Ranger,' 'Sherman Tank Commander,' etc., these figures all have a unique quality, whether it's the pose, or the substantial and well-designed scenic bases.
