This is left to personal taste, and the choice is almost unlimited, as field modifications were not uncommon on Pz IVs. As these tanks were frequently fitted with spare tracks links, used as add-on armour, I elected to add at the front of the model a length of tracks with two spare road wheels resting on a tarp made from Tamiya Epoxy Putty. Also additional spare links were fitted in front and on the sides of the driver and radio operator hatches, as seen in Achtung Panzer n°3, page 34. The spare road wheels were positioned on the rear end of the hull using the metal supports provided by Dragon. To represent the weld seams at the base of the holders, some stretched sprue lengths were glued and gently softened using Tamiya liquid glue, then shaped using a cutter blade. The gun cleaning rods were then fitted halfway down the hull left hand side.
